As a Space Planner/Project Manager, you will maintain and provide detailed documentation of all ViaSat Space to enable efficient planning, design and change implementations, analyze and clearly display and report data and drawings and lead the coordination of office and laboratory relocation and installation for all internal moves, new hires and terminations. Maintain and implement a Move Process to enable a smooth and efficient move for all parties involved.  You will also maintain building database accuracy and provide reports, manage equipment location and data, evaluation and assessment of space utilization and optimization and oversee reconfiguration of space, areas and furnishings to accommodate changing departmental and personnel requirements.  Additionally, you will develop Capital Budget Requests, monitor modification projects and report status and coordinate with support groups (IT, Security, Networking, Maintenance, Janitorial, etc…) to ensure all moves/relocations are effectively scheduled and planned. Programming and Masterplanning the Carlsbad Campus Develop long range campus masterplan for Carlsbad for all the business units and subgroups ensuring adjacencies and adequate planning for labs Meet with internal customers and develop program requirements for new construction projects and tenant improvements, domestic and international Manage the gathering of technical lab requirements (ie. layout, equipment lists, utility matrices) for new programs Ensure day to day space needs, weekly move process, and major move events (ie. new buildings) are handled in a cost efficient and effective manner Negotiate with customers to find a common sense solution that meets the need at the most efficient cost and schedule Take in daily requests for changes to spaces, moves, adds, and changes and find solutions to accommodate the groups with minimal spend Collaborate with the rest of the facilities staff & outside groups (ie. IT, finance, security, people & culture) to deliver capital projects and space improvements   Requirements 7+ years in facilities operation experience or equivalent combined work and education experiences.  Extensive experience with Windows-based applications such as Excel, Word, Visio, Project and Outlook. AutoCAD proficient or higher required.  Demonstrated ability to work in office, laboratory and mechanical areas. Space may be confined, require hearing protection and/ or personal protection equipment.
