Position Summary The Water/Wastewater Municipal Treatment Engineer will perform mid to senior level aspects of process engineering, design management and construction administration in the municipal water/wastewater market. Works under minimal supervision and reports directly to the Chattanooga Engineering Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity for a mid-level Water and Wastewater Engineer in our growing Chattanooga, TN office. Perform a variety of assignments involved in either the direct task management or coordination of various mechanical or environmental engineering, construction, purchasing, scheduling and start up aspects of a project, or the technical excellence of the environmental engineering portion of a project across all disciplines Perform preliminary engineering by analyzing data, performing calculations and evaluating options to develop the best solution and make recommendation Perform detailed engineering design on a variety of water/wastewater treatment plant and collection and distribution projects Will work directly with senior technical discipline leaders to develop and execute engineering tasks and designs May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks Responsible for ensuring that a formal QA/QC review is performed for each project they are responsible for Ability to lead projects and interface directly with customer/client, regulators, , peer consultants and contractors Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned project Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and good organizational skills #jacobswater Qualifications A minimum of 7 years of environmental or civil engineering experience is required with municipal wastewater Bachelor's degree or Mater's degree in an engineering field is required (Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineer discipline) PE registration is required, preferably in Tennessee Enthusiastic, dependable, self-starter, who is organized and able to work effectively with minimal supervision is required At Jacobs, we help prepare people for new opportunities and challenges.
