Jacobs Robotics Technician
Jacobs Technology is looking for Junior (Entry Level), Intermediate, and Senior Robotics Technicians for various ongoing and upcoming projects. Our robotics team is comprised of some of the best robotics professionals in the industry, including dual suited robotics simulators and technicians who are capable of operating simulation software and following projects to the floor. At Jacobs, we have opportunities to work both locally in Michigan and travel the world for special projects such as process optimization studies, safety and process health assessments, and other automotive and non-automotive projects.

Able to work independently and in a group
When necessary work on your feet for over 8 hours per day
Communicate well with others
Possess excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic
Reliable transportation to and from local job sites
Must be willing to travel
High School Diploma or equivalent
Junior Robotics Technician
<2 years of experience with ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki, KUKA, Motoman, Nachi, and/or other industrial robots
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Capabilities:
Basic knowledge, experience, and troubleshooting with machine automation (design and programming)
Able to create robot paths and develop programs
Understanding of electrical/electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
Experience with PLC's and other automation equipment
Robotics Technician
>2 years of experience with ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki, KUKA, Motoman, Nachi, and/or other industrial robots
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge, experience, and troubleshooting with machine automation (design and programming)
Able to help others create robot paths and develop programs
Understanding of electrical/electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
Experience with PLC's and other automation equipment
Preferred Capabilities:
Possess a basic ability to set up I/O structure, robot start-up, and various fieldbus networks with minimal supervision
Comprehensive understanding of material handling and welding (MIG, spot, and projection) applications
Experience with proprietary safety rated soft limit software, such as: DCS or SafeMove
Senior Robotics Technician
5+ years of experience with ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki, KUKA, Motoman, Nachi, and/or other industrial robots
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Comprehensive knowledge, experience, and troubleshooting with machine automation (design and programming)
Advanced robotic path and programming development skills
Understanding of electrical/electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
Experience with PLC's and other automation equipment
Able to set up I/O structure, robot start-up, and various fieldbus networks with no supervision
Comprehensive understanding of material handling and welding (MIG, spot, and projection) applications
Certified or well experienced with proprietary safety rated soft limit software, such as: DCS or SafeMove
Preferred Capabilities:
Experience in specialty and advanced automated manufacturing applications, such as: Laser welding/brazing, vision guided robots, and coordinated motion
Create/develop robot software configurations and programs for specific customer standards and specifications
Able to reduce system cycle times and introduce process changes to optimize efficiency and/or the health of a system
Participate in meetings with supervisors, co-workers, and employees to plan upcoming activities and update projects
Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and computer-aided design software
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work at a computer and desk. Must be able to navigate to offices, multiple sites, and locations. Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of employees and customers.
Work Environment
Normal Office Environment. Many areas may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Computers and General Administrative Equipment (e.g. phone, computers, copiers, printers)
Attendance
With the exception of approved leave and holidays, attendance is mandatory. This position is expected to be on-site during all regular business hours as aligned with customer requirements. Availability after hours via phone/electronic communication.

Must take and pass a drug test and background check. Must have/maintain appropriate security clearance as may be required. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
