Ready to put your skills to work on a marquee aerospace project that will be etched into the history of our nation?  Would you enjoy being involved on a large scale, complex structural project that will push your expediting and coordination skills to the next level?  Parsons is in the early stages of hiring a Sr. Expediter to work with a team that will be building a one of a kind launch platform for NASA at Kennedy Space Center.
Performs expediting functions for all phases of a large project, or multiple smaller projects, to ensure timely receipt of equipment, materials, and/or related engineering data (e.g. drawings, etc.).  Advises appropriate project personnel of delivery status. 
  • Reviews engineering, procurement, and construction schedules to maintain awareness of lead times and required deliveries of project materials, equipment, and services.
  • Contacts vendors, contractors, and/or subcontractors to coordinate and expedite the timely receipt of critical equipment, materials, or related engineering data to meet schedule requirements of project.  
  • Visits the vendor’s facility to develop or expedite established manufacturing and/or shipping schedules.  
  • Assists in the coordination of materials and equipment between one manufacturer/vendor and another to meet timely assembly, fabrication, or installation requirements.
  • Follows up with transportation company in an effort to avoid transit delays, and arranges for prompt delivery of equipment and/or materials upon arrival.
  • Advises appropriate project personnel regarding completion, transit, and delivery dates, or possible delays.
  • May inspect shipment upon arrival to ensure adherence to specifications and/or to verify correct quality and quantity.
  • Prepares status reports for project management.
  • Provides guidance to lower-level expediters assigned to project. 
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • 2-year degree in Business Administration or related field (or equivalent)  
  • 5-8 years of related work experience
  • Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows and software related to the procurement process. 
  • A thorough with expediting, procurement, and related processes is also required.
