About the Role

This role is available to be based in San Francisco, Washington DC, Seattle, New York City, or Chicago.

The Global Operations Compliance team is responsible for building a program from the ground up to document and maintain market-level operating requirements for Uber's Rides business and evaluate market health in meeting those requirements. We are looking for Sr Project Managers who will be an integral part of Uber's 2.0 journey by completing operational assessments across Uber markets. The Sr Project Manager role calls for strong problem solving skills and curiosity. You need to be able to quickly understand Uber's operating model in US&C markets, ask the right questions to local teams, spot operational gaps, and propose improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate operational processes utilized by markets across the globe against market guidelines and requirements
  • Provide strategic recommendations on addressing any identified issues and ensure timely resolution by coordinating with local centralized compliance operations teams
  • Conduct independent monitoring, reviews and investigations into regulatory compliance and map out the risk landscape
  • Identify common business needs across regions to provide guidance on global tool/product development
  • Document and maintain operational requirements, including global policies and local regulations, working with internal stakeholders such as Trust and Safety, Insurance, and Regulatory Legal
  • Present findings and insights to senior management to drive business decisions
  • Build, maintain, communicate, and present detailed reporting at city-level, regional, and mega-regional levels
  • Collaborate with other city and central operations teams, legal, insurance, trust and safety to ensure that insights inform broader strategic initiatives

What You'll Need

  • Solid Experience of having worked in a regulated industry and developed compliance frameworks
  • Worked in risk and risk management with an excellent knowledge of risk management techniques and tools
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in Strategy or Risk Consulting, Compliance or Audit
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Comfortable conducting data analysis using excel
  • Communication and collaboration skills - You'll work with a vast variety of teams across Uber, in US&C and across the world. Knowing your audience and speaking their language is fundamental to successful collaboration, hearing and understanding different perspectives, and creating solutions together.
  • Ability to be decisive with little information
  • Self-starter with the ability to choose a direction with little oversight
  • Project Management Skills - Keeping track of concurrent projects, making sure they're executed on time, and that the projects are hitting their targets
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on a regular basis (25-50% travel expected)

  • Experience in technology sector
  • Familiarity with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems
  • Experience in change management
  • A formal Internal Audit qualification
  • SQL Experience
