Job Summary

This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing and analyzing financial statements primarily for filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission to assess accuracy, completeness and conformity to reporting and procedural standards.   Other associated duties include:

  • Conduct complex assignments and analysis involving accounting projects.
  • Identify inconsistencies and problems and works to resolve them.
  • Perform appropriate accounting controls.
  • Participate in quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities supporting filings with FERC or debt holders.
  • Routinely interact with internal and external customers.
  • Advise project teams on specific accounting and internal control issues relevant to business and organizational events.
  • Provide functional advice or training to less experienced accountants.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
  • 5+ years general accounting experience or 4+ years experience working in public accounting required (A Master's degree can count towards one year of experience).
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Experience with SAP a plus
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and ability to learn new systems 
  • Previous public accounting experience a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to multiple projects and challenging priorities in workload
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor or Master
