Posting Summary

Provide technical support for biological sample management, freezer repository management including design and implement SQL and C# database applications and monitor consistency, generate reports, and provide functional supervision and training to other technicians and students. Develop and maintain database front-end applications (MS Access and Windows apps). Perform data management functions (load, extract, transform, review). Act as liaison with COMIS on system maintenance and troubleshooting. Maintain barcode label printing system. Install, maintain, and modify system hardware and software with limited supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and one to three years experience in MS SQL Server database development required. Experience developing Windows-based web apps (C#/VB.NET) on the Windows platform required. Experience with Microsoft Access and Excel VBA programming required. Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript required. Ability to work independently, strong problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail required.

Desirable Qualifications

Familiarity with statistical software packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata) highly desirable. Experience with Freezerworks software highly desirable. Experience with version control systems desirable. Familiarity with barcode symbology desirable.

Payband Max (Represents full-time (12 months, 1.0 FTE) equivalent salary. Must be prorated for jobs less than 12 months or 1.0FTE (Salary/12 x # of months x FTE)) 68020.00
