What you’ll be doing...

The Omni Customer Experience organization is building a centralized product management practice across all customer touch points to deliver a One Verizon experience. As a Scrum Master, you will be using an Agile approach to manage projects of various sizes being hyper focused on implementation and coordinating back with the Experience Manager/Experience Specialist on trade-offs as appropriate. Work will span the design process, from front end design definition to agile development and implementation. Throughout the process, you’ll serve as a key coordinator of design operations, working closely with design and product management leads to prioritize efforts, plan key meetings, and maintain efficient ways of working.

This role will be responsible for understanding and recommending solutions that enable the designed experience. Autonomy will exist in making a recommendation that is then vetted/ approved with the Omni Customer Experience / IT resource assigned to the project. The individual will assemble new and revise existing business processes to deliver on project needs; partner with external teams to make changes across the channels necessary to push the customer experience forward.

  • Stakeholdering, collaboration & organizational Influence
  • Running one large or multiple smaller projects in six week Design & Build Sprints
  • Managing execution, highlighting risks and dependencies, and resolving conflicts; developing and maintaining project plans.
  • Collaborating closely with the Experience Manager/Experience Specialist to manage trade-off decisions and align on a path forward as challenges/impediments are uncovered.
  • Promoting Agile values, principles and practices within the teams.
  • Scheduling, managing, and facilitating scrum events including: the daily standup, planning, and retrospectives.
  • Facilitating meetings and communication between product owners, stakeholders, and development team members.
  • Reviewing team health and sprint performance (i.e., velocity and burn down).
  • Clearing obstacles, distractions, and disruptions for the team during sprints to ensure effectiveness.

What we’re looking for...

You will need have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Four or more years of scrum master or program management experience.
  • Certified Scrum Master or CSM required.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to quickly understand various technology platforms and internal systems.
  • A technical background with a deep understanding of core digital concepts, systems and architecture.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and software development life cycle process.
  • Knowledge of other disciplines and the ability to bring everyone together using clear communication and strong structured thinking.
  • Results oriented, strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible.
  • Self-starter that learns and adapts quickly to new systems and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast changing environment and influence without authority.
  • Willingness to travel.
