AFS is seeking a Senior Systems Architect - Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to support our Federal portfolio. This role involves supporting the full software development lifecycle, utilizing emerging technologies in developing data pipelines, interfaces, and architecture to support analytics initiatives. The candidate will work with other architects, engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and data visualizers to bring powerful analytical solutions and insights to our clients.
This is a high visibility position that will allow you to utilize you skills and experience to, in part:
  • Work with executive leadership to bring the vision and foundation to fruition for a large agency as you establish the Service of Excellence for mission critical environment
  • Providing architectural support to systems operating in public clouds
  • Developing, training, and deploy AI/ML models and techniques
  • Identifying new use cases/opportunities for the incorporation of AI/ML technology
  • Improving existing AI/ML techniques currently in use


  • 10+ years cumulative experience to include 
    • Developing deployable solutions utilizing AI/ML techniques
    • Identifying new use cases/opportunities for the incorporation of AI/ML technology
    • Improving existing AI/ML techniques currently in use
    • Developing, training, and deploying AI/ML model
    • Supporting development using Agile methodologies
  • Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong grasp of principles and approaches used in Data-driven systems, processes and algorithms
  • Experience with ML algorithms for time series data-sets
  • Experience with stream processing frameworks / Complex event processing engines 
  • Scripting skills in at least one of the following: Shell, Perl, Bash, or Ruby
  • Experience with Performance Engineering including testing, tuning and monitoring tools
  • Basic familiarity with continuous integration tools and frameworks 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science, applied mathematics, computer science or otherwise research-based field
  • Relocation to Clarksburg, WV preferred.  However, Monday-Thursday travel will be considered.
