Jacobs is currently seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment who will drive and deliver excellence within the team. We are looking for a team oriented, competent, self-motivated, detail-oriented tax professional to assist with analyzing the accounting for income taxes for the global company. This role reports directly to the Manager – Domestic Tax and will work with all members of the Jacobs global tax group to support our domestic and international tax functions. Ideal candidate is a hard-working, willing to learn, hands-on tax professional that is responsible for assisting with accounting for income tax matters within the corporate tax department. Responsible for preparing and maintaining income tax accounting workpapers that support the quarterly and annual financial statement reporting requirements and monitors potential income tax impacts of accounting standard changes.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Key role in preparing the Company’s global tax provision and related financial statement disclosures.
  • Assist in supporting all facets of tax accounting under ASC 740 and the related SEC reporting requirements including the preparation of rate forecasts, domestic and foreign tax provisions, worldwide provision consolidation, and 10Q / K tax footnotes and disclosures
  • Assist with the preparation of the international tax provisions, including tax audit support
  • Assist in review of the tax provision calculation prepared by the local accounting teams to ensure compliance with US GAAP requirements
  • Reconciling global tax accounts on a quarterly basis
  • Maintaining inventory of Unrecognized Tax Benefits and all related supporting documentation for the Company
  • Assist and initiate SOX control performance activities and testing of tax department controls
  • Support continuous process improvement, including the identification of opportunities to drive processes and controls towards best practices
 
 
Qualifications
 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of combined 3-5 years of experience in Big 4 and public company corporate tax departments with an emphasis on accounting for income taxes (ASC 740)
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge and willingness to learn the area of accounting for income taxes
Ideal candidate will also possess the following:
 
  • CPA or MST
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to work collaboratively by incorporating diverse perspectives and willingness to accept challenging projects outside of areas of experience
  • Experience with tax software such as CorpTax
  • Working knowledge of data analytic tools (e.g. PowerQuery, Alteryx, Pivot Tables/Slicers, Access)
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team that contributes to a constructive work environment
