Job Description

Our public health group is growing and we’re currently seeking a Public Health Analyst to work in Atlanta, GA, sitting onsite with CDC.

Public Health Analyst:

  • Serve as the primary contact and project coordinators for:  1. the Muscular Dystrophy Surveillance, Tracking, and Research Network (MD STARnet) project; and 2. the Spina Bifida Registry.
  • Work closely with the Branch Scientific Collaborator and other staff to ensure progress on project tasks and goals within the project timeline.
  • Track the activities of the project using spreadsheets and other documents with the goal of more efficient monitoring and reporting of all project activities.
  • Track project action items and contact responsible parties for regular updates to ensure timely completion.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and distribute agendas for monthly committee calls, monthly CDC/site calls, and in-person Principle Investigator meetings.
  • Record minutes in a Word document and save in the appropriate share drive.
  • Plan in-person grantee site visits, training and other meetings as needed, assist in presentation development and facilitation of meetings, create minutes detailing presentations, discussions, and action items.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain study documents, including but not limited to protocols, timelines, guidelines and manuscript tracking spreadsheets.
  • Assist in leading project workgroups and data analyses.
  • Assist with other muscular dystrophy or spina bifida projects as needed.
  • Sort, clean, and analyze project data; use SAS, SPSS, and other software.
  • Summarize and disseminate the results; present at branch, division, or center scientific sessions.
  • Develop abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts for dissemination at scientific, clinical, and patient advocacy conferences and publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Analyze, develop, and maintain programmatic, administrative, and technical procedures. Analyze, develop, and maintain policies and procedures to evaluate program data systems. Interpret the results of quantitative and qualitative analysis to advise management on the effectiveness of the programmatic and administrative operations and other issues. Conceptualize, prepare and evaluate relevant portions of the strategic plan; review and edit reports, presentations, and papers for publication in scientific journals. Provide senior management level programmatic and administrative support including policy, press responses, and special projects.

Education:  Minimum of a master’s degree in a health or scientific research related field with a focus on public health, epidemiology, or nursing preferred.

Experience:  Minimum of 5 years in public health, epidemiology or nursing; project management experience preferred.
