Job Description

Our public health group is growing and we’re currently seeking a Public Health Study Coordinator to work in Atlanta, GA, sitting onsite with CDC.

Public Health Study Coordinator:

Prepare new and revised IRB submission packages including all supporting tables, information, and attachments. Prepare new and revised OMB submission packages including all supporting tables, information, and attachments. Manage communication of IRB amendment materials for collaborating (local IRB) submissions. Prepare and maintain spreadsheet with the status of all IRB packages.

  • Check and respond to e-mails and phone calls from study collaborators, study participants, and the general public.
  • Prepare and coordinate the creation, revision, translation, printing, and distribution of all participant materials.
  • Organize and maintain study content.
  • Lead and coordinate the project manager conference calls to discuss study implementation issues; activities include creating and distributing the agenda, facilitating discussion, taking minutes, emphasizing action items, and distributing final minutes.
  • Obtain, list, forward, and track the status of new and revised submitted study letters of intent, abstracts, manuscripts, and proposals for new research.
  • Obtain and maintain a file with new and updated confidentiality oaths for all study collaborators.
  • For the monthly meetings, create and distribute the agenda, facilitate discussion, take minutes, and distribute final minutes.

Analyze system and program operations for strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations for improvement. Implement change management strategies, evaluate effectiveness, and revise as necessary. Work with individual team leaders and senior leadership on the implementation and evaluation of system and operational enhancements to ensure tasks are completed on time and requirements are met.

  • Conduct program evaluations.
  • Develop evaluation questions and methodological approaches to assess program performance.
  • Implement evaluation protocols including data analysis.
  • Prepare written and oral reports of evaluation findings and assist the MACDP Director in implementing program improvements based on evaluation findings.
  • Document problems with processing tools/case data and report to leadership, as needed.
  • From various databases, generate files, reports and data tables, as needed.

Education:  Minimum of a master’s degree in a health or scientific research related field with a focus on public health, epidemiology, or nursing preferred.

Experience:  Minimum of 2 years in public health, epidemiology or nursing.
