CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley, LLC (CHBWV) is an environmental management company under contract to the Department of Energy (DOE) whose mission is to decommission a former nuclear fuel reprocessing facility. Job Summary: 
 
IT manager is responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our information technology and computer systems including cyber security within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines.  Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing needs. 
 
Essential Functions:

Manage information technology and computer systems. 4. Creates and maintains cybersecurity policies and standards 5. Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and plan, organize, control, and evaluate according to established goals. 6. Identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate issues with strategic solutions that increase data safety. 7. Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management. 8. Ensures the consistent application of cybersecurity policies and standards across all technology projects, systems, and services, including privacy, risk management, compliance and business continuity management. 9. Helps to resolve cybersecurity policy and standard deployment challenges and risks. 10. Ensures security of data, network access and backup systems. 11. Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy. 12. Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time. 13. Audit systems and assess their outcomes. 14. Preserve assets, information security and control structures. 15. Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness. 16. Remove barriers to enable department personnel to achieve company objectives. 17. Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary. 18. Oversees all help desk activities. 
CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley, LLC. 19. Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products with Procurement. 20. Ensures that company assets are maintained responsibly. 21. Initiates and implements improvements in all areas of IT responsibility. 22. Serves as main point of contact on all IT-related matters  23. Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and reports information to company management. 24. Sets and manages internal and external customers’ expectations. 25. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. 26. Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures. 27. Maintains professional and technical knowledge and remains on the forefront of emerging industry practices by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.  28. Regular attendance is required. 29. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 
 
Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 
  •  Minimum of eight (8) years of related professional experience. Three (3) years of supervisory/management experience in the area of Information Technology including Cyber Security desired. 
  •  Experience working in a DOE environment with working knowledge of DOE Directives, Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR), and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) desired. 
 Other Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate strategic information security topics, policies, and standards as well as risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels  
  • Sound knowledge of business management and an advanced knowledge of information / cybersecurity policies and standards  
  • Proven experience working in IT operations, leading technology teams, and overseeing information technology projects. 
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems. 
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems and cyber security. 
  • Expertise in data center management, data governance, data privacy and protection and internet governance. Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, network installation and cyber security required.  
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, email and/or database software and cyber security required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Must be self-directed to establish priorities, work schedules, control cost and meet deadlines.  
  • Must be able to interpret and follow a wide variety of guidelines, policies, and established practices to accomplish complex tasks. 
  • Must be able to establish project goals, policies, and performance standards; planning, staff, and managing the work; monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Must be able to direct the work of others, develop and implement special projects and resources.  
  • Must be able to develop and execute short- and long-term plans.  
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  •  Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. 
  • Strong analytical skills are a must.
