Job Description: KeyW Corporation is currently seeking a hardware systems engineer to help manage and develop the infrastructure that supports our remote sensing systems. This role includes the development and maintenance of computing hardware and network infrastructure, both for an in-house program network and for deployable computing products. The ideal candidate has the breadth of skills and motivation to perform a wide variety of tasks, such as: - Building local and deployable cluster processors - Configuring & maintaining externally facing systems and networking gear with security best practices - Establishing data archive procedures and automating archival - Assisting in data delivery tasks (file transfers, especially via scripts that verify integrity and maximize throughput) - Identifying bottlenecks and providing input to system architectural discussions, particularly related to quickly moving large quantities of data around local and wide area networks - Evaluating and configuring cloud storage and processing options - Support to build engineering, including continuous integration environment and disk image creation - Working with equipment suppliers to id hardware needs, and assisting in troubleshooting of vendor equipment - GPS and IMU hardware configuration, automation and development of training material - Adjacent tasks, such as camera calibration and troubleshooting, sensor system testing/validation, and aircraft power systems engineering Candidate must be adept at conducting technology assessments and conveying this information to the rest of the team. The candidate will investigate & implement new technologies to improve processing performance, optimizing throughput through a variety of means (network, I/O devices, software architecture guidance, etc). Candidate must be able to identify system performance drivers, prioritize issues based on system impact, and play a hands-on role in solving both hardware and software problems in a startup-like environment.
QualificationsRequired Skills: - Five or more years of applicable IT and software development infrastructure experience - Experience in project management discipline and tools Desired Skills: Interest is required, and experience is strongly desired, in the following subject areas: - Cluster computing, particularly with COTS hardware - Linux and embedded systems - Interface and configuration of custom imaging sensors and spatial sensors (e.g. GPS, IMU) Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or a related field Location: North Andover, MA Clearance: This position requires an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain higher clearance, if necessary.
