What you’ll be doing...

Verizon recently acquired BlueJeans and plans to transition BlueJeans employees into Verizon compensation and benefits programs. This position will be part of that planned transition.

The Lead Web Developer is responsible for leading BlueJeans’ website development initiatives, including both new projects as well as ongoing maintenance. This role reports into Marketing to ensure close alignment with ongoing content updates and campaign initiatives.

The BlueJeans website is more than just a marketing site, it is the gateway to our product, the launchpad for our trial experience, and the entry point for our eCommerce store, which is now a multi-million-dollar business for BlueJeans.

Overall, the Lead Web Developer is responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the BlueJeans website (using Drupal). From a leadership perspective, the role requires working across multiple business stakeholders—including engineering, product management, IT, legal, customer support, and eCommerce – to ensure we have a well-functioning, modern web experience. The role also requires technical deliverables, including but not limited to website theme development and enhancements, database management, custom module, and plugin development, as well as the maintenance, security, and management of the website hosting environment.

  • Works closely with stakeholders to create a roadmap for Website development and communicate priorities as they change.
  • Builds and maintains the website using Drupal, as well as any other required CMS.
  • Manages all technical aspects of the Content Management Systems (CMS) that are used, as well as the hosting platforms, such as Acquia and other related tools, applications and databases.
  • Evaluates, recommends and selects Drupal modules, as well as other plugins or tools for desired functionality.
  • Ensures high-performance and availability of the website.
  • Researches and builds project plans for web-related activities. Works collaboratively with all team members

What we’re looking for...

As Lead Web Developer, you will need to be strategic in your thinking, creative in your approach, and hands-on to ensure we have rapid turnaround on time-critical projects. We are looking for someone who is able to marry the skills of a product manager and lead developer, someone who will be accountable for the site’s success, while able to chart a vision and execution plan for future growth.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Must have experience building websites using Drupal 7 or 8

Even better if you have:

  • Ability to design, manage, and maintain enterprise-level CMS solutions.
  • Knowledge of PHP, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Experience with popular front-end frameworks (Bootstrap, React, Vue.js, Angular, Ember, etc.)
  • Drupal-specific PAAS providers (Acquia, Pantheon).
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with key Drupal APIs.
  • Experience developing new as well as customizing existing Drupal modules, themes, functions, and code base.
  • Ability to set up, configure, manage, and perform all phases of web application development, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience with the implementation and use of modern website development workflows and development operations using a variety of tools including GitHub.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to stay on schedule and produce results in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong front-end development knowledge.
  • Experience with compiled CSS (Less, SCSS, SASS).
  • UX and/or UI Design skills.
  • Atlassian suite of services (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Cloud computing/PAAS/IAAS solutions (AWS, Rackspace, Azure).
  • Symfony 2 or Laravel frameworks.
  • Other languages and platforms (Java, ASP.NET, Python).
