We are looking for a driven and passionate design-focused Project Manager to support our growing water / wastewater treatment and conveyance team in Southeast Michigan.
As a key member of our team, based in our suburban Detroit office, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects – planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of projects with high degrees of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning. Your immediate assignment will be to assist in the management of a large and complex drinking water transmission project. This multi-year, high visibility project in Southeast Michigan includes planning, design and construction services for several inter-related construction contracts. You will also manage upcoming projects for established clients in Southeast Michigan that will begin later in 2020 and 2021. This is an excellent opportunity to significantly advance your career working with our established clients while supported by national and local resources, including Jacobs extensive network of technical experts. Here’s What You’ll Need:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or other related engineering discipline
•Professional Engineering License (PE)
•Demonstrated experience managing all phases of project delivery (from design/planning through construction/facility start-up) for major wastewater municipalities.
•Demonstrated experience managing subconsultants and subcontractors.
•Understanding of budgets, billability goals, staffing, earned value and managing people.
•Understanding of scopes that may include, but not limited to: survey & mapping, permitting, environmental documents and related studies, public involvement, large diameter waterlines, valve vaults, traffic studies and analysis, roadway/drainage design, geotechnical investigations, utilities, right-of-way acquisition, submittal reviews, and construction drawings. Scope may also include Owner’s Representative via construction engineering, support, and inspection.
Ideally, Here’s What You’ll Also Have:
•An emphasis on water and wastewater projects
•Experience with alternative project delivery methods
•Ability to communicate effectively with multiple project stakeholders, including clients, the public, utilities and regulatory agencies.
•Experience preparing project approaches and fee estimates for proposals.
