We are seeking an experienced Sr. CADD Designer/Project Automation Lead to join our growing water and wastewater technical team in Detroit, MI for upcoming and future projects. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to work on a variety of water conveyance, water treatment, and wastewater treatment projects. This position will primarily work with water/wastewater engineers and project managers to manage the project automation process, develop both 2D CADD files and 3D design models, and maintain overall responsibility of the development and delivery of CADD files on pipeline projects and on projects involving water and wastewater facilities. Each day, you will be an important team member as you participate in the design, coordination, and execution of projects for our clients. You should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project while delivering transformative projects for our clients, in our diverse and fast-paced office. Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice and we are looking to continue to grow our team in Southeast Michigan.
•At least 10 years’ experience in design/drafting for site/civil projects, with an emphasis on water and wastewater projects preferred.
•Associate Degree in computer aided drafting or design preferred.
•Strong 2D/3D CAD skills (i.e., AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil3D, etc.) is required.
•Experience with multi-discipline infrastructure engineering design and construction projects preferred.
•Experience with Bentley Systems ProjectWise preferred.
•Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) work with an emphasis on infrastructure (water/wastewater, utilities, etc.) projects preferred.
•Familiar with standards development, implementation, and guidance.
•Able to work on own initiative, while contributing to and learning from the team.
•Exhibits planning and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
•Able to both take direction and mentor other team members.
•Excellent attention to details of complex civil design components.
•Good written and verbal communication skills including the proficient use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required.
