The designer will take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.
This position will be initially established at Ridgecrest, California in support of Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake and in direct support of earthquake recovery work through approximately 2023. The work location can thereafter be flexibly located in the general southern CA area and is expected to thereafter support similar project assignments as various locations, predominantly in the U.S. West, but potentially throughout the United States.
The position requires the selected candidate to support the Jacobs Program Manager, NAVFAC SW Design Branch and Jacobs multi-disciplinary design team to facilitate Post Award Design Support (PADS) and Post Construction Award Support (PCAS) for the 31 projects currently in various stages of execution. 
•Work in a fast-paced environment and work under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards.
•Work under supervision of Sr. Electrical Engineer.
•Perform reviews of design drawings and specifications based on design build request for proposal documents
•Prepare drawings and specification detailing the Electrical System designed. Ability to design lighting, lighting control and power systems, including conduit and wire sizing is required.
•Prepare inspection and design reports and presentation materials.
•Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including document management and processing RFI's and Change Orders
•Support PM in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets.
•Participate in internal and external meetings and document discussions
•Gather information, interview stakeholders, makes studies, performs calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches as required
•Perform routine and high level tasks under minimal supervision using well-defined standards, procedures and codes.
•Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects
•Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research
•Prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms
•Provide project quality control reviews at project milestones and continuous over the shoulder review.
•Select equipment and lighting fixtures for interior and exterior applications.
•Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls. Ability to perform photometric calculations is required.
•Prepare load analysis for different stages of design
•Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience is required.
•5+ years' Electrical design experience 
•Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing 
•Basic knowledge of electrical building systems 
•Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines 
•Self-motivated personality with the ability to work collaboratively and independently as appropriate in studio environment 
•Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment
•Ability to effectively meet deadlines 
•Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD 
•U.S. Citizenship is preferred
•E.I.T. certification  
•Proficiency in AGI 32 Lighting Analysis, SKM Power Tools for Windows, Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel program 
•Experience in data center, power, UPS systems, generator systems and medium voltage distribution projects 
•Previous DoD experience, basic competency with Federal energy standards, Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) and other Government requirements 
•Experience in lightning protection, communications, security, and fire alarm system design 
•Knowledge of the federal Unified Facilities Codes (UFCs) and DoD regulations 
•Working knowledge of electrical and building code requirements
