Jacobs is looking for a VMF Software Configuration responsible for providing support to the Communications-Electronic Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC), Services Directorate’s mission execution in the following area(s): Data Architecture Support.

  • Supports Army management of with Variable Message Format (VMF) messaging standard (US MIL STD 6017). 
  • Familiar with the Combat Net Radio (CNR) protocols (US MIL STD 2045-47001 and US MIL STD 188-220).
  • Assists in the design, development, and maintenance of systems that use VMF and or CNR Protocols.
  • Works with program manager representatives and combat developers to understand their analytic or interface requirements. 
  • Assists in developing change proposals and evaluations to meet their requirements.
  • Assists in design, development, and testing of operating systems-level solutions to Army-wide requirements.
  • Assists in setting operational specifications and formulate and analyzing requirements.
  • Participates in development working groups, configuration control boards, and technical review panels.

 

 

Qualifications

 

    • Secret Clearance Required
    • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline.

       Five (5) years’ experience supporting Army management of the Variable Message Format (VMF) messaging standard (US MIL STD 6017).

  • Two (2) years’ experience in assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of systems that use VMF and or CNR Protocols.
  • Understanding/knowledge of Army management of Supports Army management of with Variable Message Format (VMF) messaging standard (US MIL STD 6017). 
  • Ability to apply Combat Net Radio (CNR) protocols (US MIL STD 2045-47001 and US MIL STD 188-220).
  • Must design, development, and maintenance of systems that use VMF and or CNR Protocols.
  • Ability to work with program manager representatives and combat developers to understand their analytic or interface requirements.
  • Must be able to develop change proposals and evaluations to meet requirement.
  • Capable of designing, developing , and testing of operating systems-level solutions to Army-wide requirements.
  • Ability to provide support in setting operational specifications and formulate and analyze requirements
  • Must be able to develop working groups, configuration control boards, and technical review panels.
  • Must be self-starter, willing to take complete ownership of complex technical problems


Desired Requirements

  • Familiarity with the Armies of America, Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand (ABCANZ) program preferred.
  • Should be able to think clearly and articulate with appropriate level of abstraction his/her thought process on complex technological issues
