Responsibilities: Participate in the execution of external audit engagements of various clients, including Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrants. Review audit working papers to identify compliance with current U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and PCAOB prescriptions. Identify and resolve financial statement audit and reporting issues based on professional guidelines, including U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Research technical accounting issues. Understand and utilize KPMG’s Audit Methodology.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00am – 5:00pm)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field plus five (5) years of experience in the offered position or a related occupation. Employer will accept a master’s degree plus two (2) years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience. CPA license required. Up to 20% travel to various locations per business need. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Two years of experience must include: Performing risk assessment procedures, developing audit programs, and evaluating accounting and disclosure requirements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, U.S. GAAS, ISA, IFRS, and PCAOB auditing standards. Evaluating client companies’ business processes and environments to identify the risk of accounting fraud and noncompliance with laws and regulations. Designing and developing audit approaches to mitigate financial statement risks. Reviewing SEC filings and researching technical accounting issues. Testing the design and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
