Responsibilities: Participate in the execution of external audit engagements for clients, including Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrants. Perform external audit engagements in line with firm risk management practices. Perform risk assessment procedures and develop audit programs and associated working papers. Research technical accounting issues under U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and AICPA. Design and develop audit approaches to mitigate financial statement risks. Participate in review of financial statements and disclosures and management reports. Understand and utilize KPMG’s Audit Methodology.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00am – 5:00pm)
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or foreign equivalent in Accounting or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the offered position or a related occupation. Employer will accept a master’s degree plus two (2) years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of experience. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Up to 40% travel to various locations per business need. CPA license required. Two years of experience must include: performing business process review to identify financial statement risks; performing risk assessment procedures, develop audit programs and evaluating accounting and disclosure requirements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS and AICPA auditing standards; evaluating internal control over financial reporting in accordance with COSO framework; designing and developing audit approaches to mitigate financial statement risks; review audit working papers to identify compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and PCAOB prescriptions; and identify and resolve financial statement audit and reporting issues based on professional guidelines, including U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
