KeyW / Jacobs is seeking a Top Secret cleared Data Scientist to support our client in Washington, DC. The Data Scientist will be responsible for identifying and assessing current and emerging threats and vulnerabilities as they relate our customer’s mission researching new and innovative ways to detect botnets, as well as methods to automatically discover and classify devices and infrastructure in botnet infected networks using large quantities of cyber security data.
Responsibilities: Conducting research, analysis, visualization and evaluate unstructured data with specific emphasis on identifying network operations and cyber warfare tactics, techniques, IOCs and procedures focused on the threat to networked US government information networks. • Working with a variety of both structured and unstructured data sources. • Producing novel and innovative research into anomaly detection, classification, discovery, and pattern-of-life from large cyber security data sets. • Working with developers to scale prototyped machine learning applications in distributed computing platforms such as Spark. • Communicating findings to a non-technical audience of decision makers. • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of data scientists, software engineers, dev ops engineers, and subject matter experts. • Coordinate with customer Component, SLTT, and IC members, as needed, to automate data streams • Participate in multi-agency outreach activities between the customer and other members of the IC. • Visualize network events to allow analyst to determine the impact on current operations and conduct research to determine adversary capability and intent. • Generate lead data for analysts’ assessments and cyber threat profiles
