Windows Systems Engineer IRES - HSV - (AER00050J)

Description

The Windows Systems Engineer will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

The candidate will:

• Maintain a large Windows enterprise server environment
• Perform daily/weekly system health (battle-rhythm) checks on the Enterprise Windows server environment to ensure normal maintenance functions are performing properly
• Act as primary server POC for systems running specific applications
• View and respond (as appropriate) to events reflected in the various management and monitoring tools
• Attend various meetings (crew/team, staff, change, configuration, etc.),
• Participate in forward thinking activities and automating as much as feasible
• Perform administration of windows server environment to include troubleshooting, break fix activities, the patching and remediation of servers, and system audit log reviews as required
• Coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy Incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure, troubleshooting any system errors or user issues, tracking resource utilization and performance of systems, and performing modifications and upgrades as needed

Primary duty hours fall between 0600 (CT) and 1700 (CT) with periodic shift work (and on-call) required to assist with after-hours maintenance activities. 

This position is at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.  

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 8 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 6 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 2 years of general experience.

• Must have at least 4 years of experience as a Windows system administrator supporting a large enterprise with knowledge of Windows Server 2012R2/2016 administration.
• Experience with implementing CyberSecurity best practices
• Must have a current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE Certification or higher
• Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

• WSUS/SCCM patch management
• General networking experience to include switching and routing
• Current Microsoft Certifications
• Experience with HP server products to include HP c-Class Blade Systems and Virtual Connects
• Experience using Remedy software preferred
• Experience supporting a DoD customer
