Description
 Jacobs is seeking an IT Integration Designer / Network Specialist to support a government client in the Washington DC area. 
 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Serves as a technology expert in the architecture and development of large systems requiring state-of-art technology that is based on complex engineering techniques and/or processes.
  • Establishes system requirements using analysis of enterprise-wide or large scale information systems to determine critical features and establishing performance models to ensure the viability of the required tasks, the interrelationships of the tasks, and that a recommended solution will meet all requirements in an effective manner.
  • Designs system architectures that include software, hardware, and communications to support the total set of system requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models, and profiles of standards – such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model – as they apply to the implementation and specification of Information Management (IM) solution of the application platform, across the application program interface (API), and the external environment/software application.
  • Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant with agency standards.
  • Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.
  • Provides on-site general IT program and project management for multiple projects – to include the review of all documentation and serve as Government site representative for telecommunications installation.

Qualifications
 Basic Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
  • Masters with 12 years specialized experience (fifteen years total experience) or Bachelors with 13 years specialized experience (seventeen years total experience).
  • Experience with deploying and/or managing Information Management & Technology (IM&T) systems with multiple classifications from Unclassified through TS/SCI and SAP networks
  • Working knowledge of IM&T operating systems and protocols such as Ethernet, FDDI, TCP/IP, VoIP, and the OSI model
  • Must be familiar with IM&T and long distance and local carrier management
  • Experience designing and planning IM&T networks
  • Experience with IM&T project management
Desired Qualifications:
  • Masters with 12 years specialized experience
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills
  • Experience with physical IM&T network infrastructure installation, industry codes and standards, and TEMPEST standards
  • Experience with deploying and/or managing IM&T systems with multiple classifications from Unclassified through Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP) networks
  • RCDD or BICSI Installer Certification a plus
