Description
 Jacobs is currently seeking a Network Operations Specialist to support a customer facility in the Winchester, VA area. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Level Security Clearance with special accesses.

Responsibilities may include the following:
  • Implement, monitor and maintain local and wide area networks that typically link to numerous computer platforms, operating systems and network topologies
  • Implement Radio Frequency (RF) systems, telecommunications and video systems in government secure networks
  • Troubleshoot and analyze radio and computer equipment and provide operations analysis
  • Utilize understanding of mid-range computer hardware and software features.

Qualifications
 Basic Qualifications:
  • US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance with special accesses.
  • Two (2) years of college in a computer field and five (5) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience for a total of seven (7) years. Progressive relevant training and/or certification in appropriate discipline may be substituted for one (1) year of the education or experience requirement
  • Knowledge of radio and computer equipment
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in RF systems including HF, VHF, UHF, AEHF, and cryptographic equipment experience equivalent work experience in the above areas.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Current TS clearance granted by DoD preferred
  • TS clearance granted by another Federal agency acceptable
  • SCI eligibility determination
  • IAT Level I DoD 8570 Certification strongly desired (A+ CE, CCNA-Security, Network+ CE OR SSCP)
  • Military certificates of training in radio areas
  • Experience as a Network and /or Systems Administrator
  • 5-10 years’ experience in RF systems including HF, VHF, UHF, AEHF, and cryptographic equipment experience equivalent work experience.

Essential Functions:
hysical Requirements:
Work will be done in an office and field environment. The ability lift and move 50 lbs. required.

Work Environment:
Office and field environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members across the customer’s organization.

Equipment & Machines:
Radio and computer equipment knowledge required to provide troubleshooting and analyses of operations. General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance:
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work rotating 12 hour shifts and support standby duty to assume shift duties of personnel not able to report for shift or to respond to an alternate duty location. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Other Essential Functions:
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Must be willing to travel, estimated 20 days a year, as needed. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance with special accesses.
