JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC is seeking a Data Center Management Technician (DCMT), with strong verbal and written communication skills, to support physically separated customers and teammates in a federal government agency.

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The successful applicant will function as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for the planning, allocation, and utilization of Power, Space, and Cooling (PSC) resources within the customer’s data center. The candidate will be responsible for supporting evolving customer requirements as well as addressing any issues with the current data center operations.  Applicants are expected to have an in-depth knowledge of data center operations, be able to identify and mitigate data center issues,  create strategic plans that focus on expanding data center operations, and lead physical device migration efforts.

 

The successful candidate will represent the team and the customer at various configuration and requirements boards.  The candidate must be proficient in using multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc. The candidate will write and edit technical documentation, create and review standard operating procedures and presentations, and review other technical documentation for impacts to the space, power, and cooling resources available within the data centers.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of education

Clearance required to start: TS/SCI with Polygraph

Clearance required to remain on the program: TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Data Centre Technician Professional (DCTP)
  • Data Centre Design Professional (DCDP)
  • Data Centre Energy Practitioner (DCEP)
  • Certified data center professional (e.g., BICSI)
