Our Hardware Engineering teams cover vast engineering disciplines working cross-functionally in all areas of self-driving vehicles. With a multi-layered approach that addresses challenges at the mechanical, electrical, and firmware levels, our R&D Hardware Engineering teams set the bar for talent.

About the Role

As a Hardware test engineer on the V&V team, you will participate in requirements engineering, develop hardware verification and validation plans, develop test cases, design/build test fixtures, execute tests and document results to validate components and systems.

What You'll Do

  • Testing software/firmware computer systems and microcontrollers that work with cameras, lidar, radar, and other sensors.
  • Develop test cases to validate hardware/software integration
  • Debugging & failure analysis of complex hardware-software interactions
  • Develop tools and methods to automate testing for rapid deployment
  • Programming & debugging in C-like languages, and developing test scripts in high-level languages like Python
  • Present reports, document your work, and prioritize tasks on your own

Basic Qualifications

  • Creative problem solving
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience or knowledge in embedded software testing
  • Ability to design, build and maintain tests for custom hardware
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Linux development environment
  • Good general EE knowledge
  • BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field and 1+ years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with safety-critical hardware systems and components
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and development
  • Experience with fault injection testing methodologies
  • Ability to design, build and maintain electrical test fixtures
  • Experience in agile project environments
  • Understanding of automotive applications and standards
