JPC - 39723 - Sr Java Developer - Java, Spring Microservices, Cloud Native Applications

Our client, a Fortune 50 organization, is in search of a Sr Software Engineer to join a product team and contribute to software desing, development and full product life-cycle of applications and APIs that support multiple initiatives throughout the organization. The team operates in a TDD/BDD environment and offers a highly collaborative opportunity for a 12 month contract engagement. Software Engineers are expected to pair on a daily basis and work through user stories. Performance tuning, testing and production monitoring will be key aspects of this role as well

Collaborates and pairs with other product team members (UX, engineering, and product management) to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions

Works with Product Team to ensure user stories that are developer-ready, easy to understand, and testable Writes custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases

Writes custom code or scripts to do "destructive testing" to ensure adequate resiliency in production

Configures commercial off the shelf solutions to align with evolving business needs

Fields questions from other product teams or support teams

Monitors tools and participates in conversations to encourage collaboration across product teams

Provides application support for software running in production

Proactively monitors production Service Level Objectives for products

Proactively reviews the Performance and Capacity of all aspects of production: code, infrastructure, data, and message processing 

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3+ years 

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Java, Sprint Boot Microservices
- Development of cloud native applications
- NoSQL and SQL database experience

Plusses:
- GCP and PCF (on-prem and off-prem application development
- Cassandra, IBM and Oracle database experience
