KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our Business Tax Services practice.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high quality tax planning and advisory services to existing KPMG tax compliance clients
• Play supporting or leadership role (depending on previous experience) in managing tax compliance client portfolios
• Support the growth of the KPMG tax practice by assisting with thought leadership and proposals, and teaming with other KPMG professionals to identify new market opportunities
• Manage teams of tax professionals and other staff working on client projects
• Manage financial performance of and risk associated with engagements, including budgeting, billing, and collections on projects
• Understand the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules affecting asset management clients

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of tax experience in the asset management industry (investment partnership and/or REIT experience required)
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; J.D. or licensed CPA
• Previous experience as an associate at a top-tier law firm, or as a tax manager with a public accounting firm
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex tax concepts to clients who do not possess a technical tax background
• Strong project and people management skills or a passion for developing them (depending on experience)
• Applied working knowledge of financial and tax accounting for investments
