Senior Data Analyst - US - California - San Diego

Position Summary

As part of the Global Quality & Operations Analytics Center of Excellence, the Sr. Data Analyst will work cross functionally to help users better incorporate data into their daily decision making. This often will include connecting to and across disparate data sources, building interactive & insightful reports, designing and helping select appropriate ways to capture data, and even helping business users understand best practices in creating KPIs. The Sr. Data Analyst will leverage this cross functional exposure to proactively identify broad business needs, gather requirements, build solutions, and help determine the actions necessary to drive valuable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, IT, Supply Chain, Finance and a variety of other partners to deliver reporting solutions
• Retrieve data from various systems and prepare it for wider consumption
• Help create systems of record where none exist and drive adoption of those systems          
• Interact with key business functions to confirm data quality policies, governed attributes, and help align global metric definitions.
• Take initiative to develop and implement new processes to strengthen data accuracy or enhance efficiency
• Transform data into reports, charts, presentations
• Lead or lend expertise in various cross-functional jobs/efforts
• Support creation and maintenance of intra-departmental policies and procedures
• Demonstrate effective communication style working with all levels of organizational structure, through multiple departments, and across global sites

Requirements         

• 3-5 years’ experience working closely with large & varied data sets
• Able to adapt quickly to change, and comfortable with ambiguity
• Able to understand data in whatever format it’s presented, and effectively communicate the story it tells.
• Proficiency in SQL, Data Visualization (ideally Tableau), and scripting (ideally Python)
• Demonstrated ability to work with (and clarify) ambiguous requirements, adapt, and learn
• Must be able to work independently or as part of a larger group
• High degree of initiative and ownership, as well as a proven history of delivering results while working with several different departments in a fast-paced environment
• Bonus points to candidates with experience building & sustaining web applications.

 Education 

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field desired or equivalent experience
