As a vital member of our New Jersey team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on roads, bridges and other transportation structure designs. You'll provide support to the team for overall project delivery. Project Engineer’s are responsible for various aspects of execution including analysis on RFI’s/ project alternatives, design calculations, permit coordination, safety implementation, and execution plan development. You’ll support the execution team (typically Project Managers and Inspectors) with field coordination with stakeholders, coordinate/arrange meetings as required to meet the needs of the projects, work with the Project Execution Team to mitigate risks and resolve issues and work with Project Manager to provide support for the delivery of the projects.
As the Project Engineer, you’ll also represent the Project Manager at meetings and during construction site visits at the direction of the Project Manager; update all working trackers and ensure progress updates are readily available, investigates and responds to RFI’s as requested by the Project Manager, review PCOs for redundancy, reasonability, accuracy, math, and that appropriate deductions from original scope were applied, conducts pricing reviews on contractor submitted construction pricing, reviewing units, and overall quality of the contractor deliverables.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• At least 15 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager
• Confident decision-making ability
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage project costs and budgets
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong time management and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
