If you are interested in bringing a different way of thinking to everything you do, then Jacobs is where you belong.  We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Hydrodynamic Modeler in Portland, OR, who will support local and regional water management planning, hydrodynamic and water quality modeling of estuaries, scripting/programming and facilities operations and design studies.

 

As a key member of our Portland team, you'll be involved in data collection and analysis, development of database and GIS applications, development and application of a wide range of water resources management models as well as hydrologic, hydrodynamic, and other physically-based models. Using our cutting-edge, proprietary tools and modeling software, you'll assist with delivering projects and serving and developing clients.

Qualifications

 

Here’s What You’ll Need:

 

·        Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with emphasis on water resources 

·        Knowledge of hydrodynamic models (DSM2, HEC-RAS 5.0.1 or above, UnTRIM, SCHISM, etc.) 

·        Knowledge of programming and scripting languages (python, R, matlab, etc.) 

·        Strong self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, data analysis & technical problem solving, organizational skills, multitasking ability and computer skills. 

 

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:

 

·        A 3.0 GPA

·        A master's degree in environmental or civil engineering or a related engineering discipline.

·        Experience with ArcGIS and graphics/CAD software, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, and advance capabilities with MS Excel and databases.

·        Experience with project controls software.
