Job Description

Description
 Job function entails the design, fabrication, and testing of articles ranging from basic material coupons to complex rocket components from advanced materials, as well as the development of novel manufacturing techniques and test methods in support of advanced solid rocket propulsion technologies.  Data analysis and report generation are expected.  Participation at symposia, workshops, and conferences is also anticipated.
 
Qualifications
 
  • MS in an engineering discipline (materials science, chemical engineering preferred) or BS with 2+ years of relevant experience  
  • Knowledge of fiber reinforced polymer composite manufacturing processes, testing, and properties
  • Experience with polymeric material characterization techniques including: thermal, viscoelastic, electrical, and mechanical analysis
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain a security clearance
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be a US citizen
