Candidate will be a part of the development team that primarily develops radio products for government, military, and commercial customers. Candidate will be responsible for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design including: component creation, component library maintenance, and layout.
Candidate will be involved in challenging work with an emphasis on product design miniaturization by working closely with a cross-functional team including electrical, mechanical, and RF engineers. Upon completion of the design work, the candidate will interface with external PCB fabricators and a Jacobs SMT assembly team to ensure project success.
-Design and layout high density printed circuit boards in Mentor Graphics PADS.
-Create and maintain components in a standard component library.
-Generate documentation for fabrication of printed circuit boards by external supplier.
-Generate assembly documentation for population of printed circuit board assemblies at Jacobs facilities.
-Calculate and route controlled impedance transmission lines.
-Establish and utilize design rules to verify manufacturability of designed printed circuit board.
-Layout printed circuit boards with digital, analog, and RF signals.
-Correspond with PCB fabrication vendors to understand and implement vendor capabilities into designs.
-Send out PCB designs for quote.
-Configuration management of PCB files for production and engineering.
-5 years of experience in component creation and board layout.
-Experience with OrCAD Capture and Mentor Graphics PADS.
-Strong understanding of electrical schematics.
-Ability to read and understand datasheets for RF and Analog components.
-Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
-Effective time management and prioritization skills.
-Excellent communication and documentation skills.
-Strong analytical skills to access and resolve complex technical problems.
-Strong work ethic with a track record of completing tasks on schedule.
-Basic skills in Microsoft Office software products.
-Experience with Altium Designer is a plus.
-Familiarity with HDI PCB construction.
