We have the unique and significant role to partner with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC), to be part of every human spaceflight program – the International Space Station (ISS), NASA’s Orion spacecraft, which will carry astronauts into deep space, and Gateway, the orbiting platform providing the home for astronauts to work and travel back and forth to the moon’s surface, and serving as the platform for deep space exploration.  From critical systems on the ISS to enable astronauts to live and work in space; to performing advanced development for systems leading to deep space exploration; to being part of the foundation for Gateway. 

 

We also partner with NASA at JSC, the only NASA center in the United States to curate all astromaterial samples returned from exploration missions, to perform curation services, orbital debris analysis, and basic research to further humankind’s understanding of the origins of our solar system.

We are currently in need of a Cleanroom Coordinator to join our team.  Do you have the following skills?

  
The Cleanroom Coordinator will:
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with key personnel such as cleanroom staff, cleanroom customers, NASA customers and Division Technical Managers.
  • Serve as the primary customer interface for cleanroom working with each  customer to understand their requirements, drivers, and timelines.
  • Provide thorough cleanroom job status reports to customers.
  • Develop and maintain cleanroom schedule based on priority.
  • Obtain customer feedback and use to improve customer service, processes and procedures.
  • Improve current estimating process and continually evaluate its effectivity
  • Establish routine process evaluation and refinement.
  • Solve issues and take proactive measures to decrease risk of losing any clean room capability.
  • Ensure cleanroom equipment is well maintained and remains in working.
  • Ensure cleanroom remains within quality standards at all times.
  • Assist customers with questions, paperwork, scheduling
  • Partner with facility manager to keep utilities such as de-ionized water system in good working order.
  • Write proposals for continuous improvements and capital investments.
  • Develop "Road Show" presentation and educate others on cleanroom capabilities to increase throughput.
  • Provide cleanroom activity reports to management on weekly basis.
  • Coordinate Quality Assurance support as-needed.
  • Assist with procure needs for consumables.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BS degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years related experience, or MS degree and two (2) years of related experience, or Ph.D. from an accredited college or university.-OR-

  • Associated technical degree or two (2) years of college with courses in engineering or associated disciplines, and twelve (12) years of related experience (or a BS degree with ten (10) years of related experience will also be acceptable). Position requires specialized and extensive knowledge of engineering principles gained through long and varied work experience in field of specialty.

  • Excellent verbal communication and written presentation skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple/concurrent tasks.

  • Able to make lab operation and scheduling decisions independently.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. 

Requisition Preferences:

  • Knowledge of JSC hardware classifications and associated paperwork processes.

  • Knowledge of Smartsheet.
