Your Impact:

 

This is a Test Evaluation and Support Team contract position (TEST2) at the NASA – White Sands Test Facility.

 

Must be able to provide administrative support to technical staff by performing data collection and preparation of various reports, purchasing and tracking of various project support items, and coordinating various activities. Will Support multiple test programs within the department including coordination of meetings, schedules, work control, procurements, and project estimating and tracking. Will coordinate the delivery and pick-up of test materials/test components with technical personnel. Must have extensive experience with MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel (including using and developing macros, formulas and pivot tables), and Access (database generation and management. Experience with project management and execution (Planning, estimating, tracking and controlling cost and schedule) is highly desirable. Employee must have outstanding organization, time management, and prioritization skills. Being a great multi-tasker is essential. Must have the ability to effectively communicate and build strong relationships with internal and external customers.

Requires two (2) years of college with courses in business administration, industrial management, or appropriate discipline, and six (6) years progressive experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.  Requires good oral and written communication skills and analytical capabilities.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

UNUSUAL OR SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION 

Position involves extended periods of sitting. Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, use of stairs, and access to remote structures. Typically required to lift and hold up to 20 pounds. Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.   

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT

Desk/office work and test area work. As necessary, must be able to travel to other work areas and be aware of safety requirements for those areas.  Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.  All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.

 

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASKS

Computer work required.  Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook are necessary.  Use of calculator, printer, fax, scanner, telephone, filing cabinets, and other standard office equipment is required.  Operation of a government motor vehicle may be required.

 

CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE

Regular attendance and punctuality is required.  Occasional overtime may be required in support of test project schedules or other priority assignments as determined by management or customer needs.  Normal working hours are nine (9) hour per day with some flexibility based on pre-approval.  A condensed work schedule, allowing alternate Fridays off, is typically in use for each two week pay cycle (9-80 schedule).  Personnel in the branch are cross-trained to allow for normal planned vacation and sick leave.

 

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.  Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements.  Dress must be appropriate for the position and not pose a safety risk or hazard to the employee or others in accordance with NASA and Company policies. Must be a U.S Citizen.  Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Must pass a Federal background investigation.  Must be able to pass a physical examination as determined by the NASA White Sands Test Facility and the Company for the job classification.  Must submit to pre-employment drug testing. Must maintain site access to NASA facilities and computer systems.
