Summary:

SAIC is currently looking for a project engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering to support launch system SE&I activities for the Launch Enterprise (ECL).  This position is located at Vandenberg AFB, CA. Key aspects of this position will include the following:

 

Job Specific Responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities may include conceptual thinking, analyze and review designs and test plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, complex system analysis, and documentation preparation for complex systems.

 

Analyzes the capabilities, readiness and supportability of electrical infrastructure, facilities and associated systems to support mission operations. Identifies requirements shortfalls, risks and obsolescence concerns and provides recommendations to meet current and projected user requirements including repairs, replacements and upgrades. Assesses design, development and operations associated with electrical infrastructure, facilities and associated systems, in the areas of power generation, transmission, distribution, protection, controls, grounding and lightning protection. Identifies new technologies and operational enhancements to improve system design, safety, reliability, cost efficiency and code/regulatory compliance. Investigates system failures, diagnoses faulty operation, conducts root-cause analysis, performs Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system data analysis and provides recommendations to return systems to operation and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Secret Clearance Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or STEM field.  Minimum of (10) years’ experience in relevant fields
