Job Description


SAIC is looking for a Senior Radar Engineer to support a dynamic program in Chantilly, VA. This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph. In this role you will provide engineering support to critical programs and upcoming acquisitions.  This support will include the following:

  • Use technical expertise on Radar to develop concepts and designs, evaluate feasibility of new technologies, as well as troubleshoot and resolve design, development, and operations issues
  • Participate and represent the customer in various Government and contractor meetings and attend contractor programmatic and technical reviews (e.g. PMR, PDR, CDR, and other meetings) to provide technical and programmatic-based system recommendations and risk assessments
  • Provide proactive support to the Government customer and tasks
  • Develop productive relationships with Prime/Subcontractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts 
  • Author, review, and coordinate documents and data to aid the Government in decision-making
  • Frequent interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, and external stakeholders



TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience


  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Poly 
  • Proven expertise in Radar discipline and fielding of Radar technologies
  • Experience with signal processing and system architecting in the areas of SAR space based systems
  • Experience with current and future Radar satellite, airborne, and ground collection systems to include current and future processing capabilities
  • Experience in Radar phenomenology specific to collection and processing methodology
  • Experience in Radar systems to include tasking, command & control, collection, mission processing, and dissemination
  • Proven experience in core systems engineering and analysis disciplines and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment
  • Proficient at program/project management within the customer organization 
  • Experience with NRO systems a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Available to travel domestically
