Job Description


SAIC is seeking a qualified Exercise Gamer-Wing Operations Center (WOC) individual to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program.

AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.


SAIC is seeking to hire 1 part time Exercise Gamer to work as a Lead of the Wing Operations Center response cell. Candidate will lead various response cell members to role play Wing operations such as the command post, fuels squadron, munitions squadron, maintenance squadron, medical squadron, civil engineering squadron to provide realistic interactions with the Air Force Forces (AFFOR) training audience.


  • Understand the role of Wing agencies and interactions with the AFFOR
  • Familiarity with processes and procedures of Wing agencies
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplined team in a response cell
  • Knowledge of air simulation status of airbase operations



  • Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more of experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.  Or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years military experience in Wing operations
  • Working knowledge of Wing operations and reports to AFFOR staff
  • Working knowledge of Master Scenario Event List process and injection methods to meet training objectives
  • Air Force simulations
  • Information technology
  • Active Secret Clearance required

Desired Familiarity with the Following:

  • Battle damage assessment processes and systems
  • Practical application of Air computer simulation for the support of exercises
  • Fundamental principles of simulation-driven exercise planning
