Job Description


SAIC is seeking a qualified Electonic Attack SME to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program.


AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.


The role of this position is to:


  • Develop scenarios for DTC-sponsored and supported events. including controlling and performing duties as blue/red air with constructive models. {Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE), and Next Generation Threat System (NGTS)}.
  • Generate the mission materials related to the scenarios, including Air Tasking Order (ATO), Airspace Control Order (ACO), communication plans, Special Instructions (SPINs), blue and red orders of battle, red air plans, and mission cards.
  • Perform Electronic Attack White/Blue/Red Force (role play) functions during execution of exercises and training events.
  • Lead briefs and debriefs with the exercise audience.
  • Exercise support may including, large force exercises integrating joint, combined, allied, and other partner nations’ forces in an air, land, sea, space, and cyberspace battlefield, as well as smaller scenarios integrating specific capabilities.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of United States (US) military planning cycles/processes as well as the employment of US military Electronic Warfare weapons systems and how they integrate with other US, Allied, and Partner Nation Weapons Systems.


Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more of experience.  Or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Rated US Military Aircrew or Career Enlisted Aviator qualifications with recent Electronic Attack operational experience within five years
  • Minimum of 200 hours of Instructor or Evaluator experience, or have recent experience providing like training support (based on applicable weapon system and mission set)
  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Must possess a Secret Clearance

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • Previous Mission Commander and U.S. Military Weapons School graduate qualifications desired
  • Familiarity with US Military training requirements, methodology, and procedures
  • Familiarity with US military policy and doctrine as well as experience with the planning and execution of joint, combined, allied, and other partner nation’s operations and exercises
