Job Description

Definitive Logic is actively seeking a Microsoft Solutions Practice Director to drive digital transformation to generate mission outcomes for Federal agencies by maximizing their investments in Microsoft technologies.   

A successful candidate will build upon Definitive Logic's foundation as a Microsoft Gold Partner with 50+ certified practitioners through thought leadership, industry engagement, R&D, and other areas that support the continued maturation of the practice.  

In this capacity, the Practice Director runs a profit center reporting to our CEO and is responsible for all operational activities for the Practice.  Other duties include collaborating with executive management, defining and executing go-to-market plans, leading people, and managing project delivery success factors such as profitability, resource utilization, deliverables, budget, and customer/partner/practitioner satisfaction. Other important responsibilities include identifying and capturing business opportunities by creating and expanding client relationships.   


  • Leads team of Microsoft enthusiasts/practitioners driving digital transformation across the Federal government.  

  • Responsible for definition of innovative strategies and business plans for the practice in alignment with corporate strategy.  

  • Responsible for Thought Leadership for the Practice, including definition of solution offerings aligned to Microsoft’s competencies with support from our Chief Technology Officer (CTO). 

  • Formulates and executes budget for the Practice, with support from Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a Project Control Analyst, including realization of target margins and responsible expenditure of Practice overhead/controllable expenses.   

  • Responsible for attainment of business and financial objectives for the Practice.   

  • Owns pipeline of future work for the Practice, with support from our Chief Growth Officer (CGO), including personally performing demand creation activities.  

  • Owns delivery of direct projects owned by the Practice, with support from our Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Customer Experience Officer (CXO). 

  • Responsible for all aspects of talent recruitment, talent management, and employee experience for the Practitioners in the Practice, with support from our Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO), a P&C Business Partner and our Recruiting Team.

  • Highly collaborative role requiring interface with our other Practice Directors, including cross-selling and matrixed resource support. 

  • Visible/vocal leader in corporate meetings and events, and strong contributor to company culture and continuous reinvention. 

  • Example for others in personally exhibiting behaviors of our organizational principles daily.  Runs Practice in accordance with these behaviors, holding others accountable to our standard. 

  • ​Maintains impeccable business integrity throughout all functions.   


  • Must love Microsoft and be passionate about sharing that love with others!  

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Cloud technologies 

  • Experience working with Microsoft channel ecosystem to drive adoption & growth of Microsoft business in partnership with ATUs 

  • Proven track record winning consulting engagements with customers based on Microsoft Cloud, which includes Azure, O365 & D365 

  • Deep understanding of cloud computing, Legacy modernization & digital transformation challenges and solutions. 

  • Experience building and growing a practice in a consulting environment  

  • Bachelor’s degree  

  • 10 or more years of relevant experience  

  • 5 years of leadership experience  

  • Ability to obtain Government security clearance (DoD Secret)  

  • Ability to travel 0-25% as required
