JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support the US Army Corps of Engineers RITS Program. This position will be located onsite in Detroit, MI. This is a hands-on technical role supporting the server environment, Active Directory, etc. This also a mixed environment where you would have the opportunity to work with physical servers, virtual servers, storage infrastructure, and is a great opportunity for you to expand your hands on technical skills working on a team of System Administrators. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent Microsoft (MS) Windows Server Operating Systems (OS) on physical and virtual operating environments.
Assist in storage and data management, specifically file and folder permissions.
Support operational transition of enterprise solutions into production.
Coordinate local response to IAVA vulnerability remediation.
Coordinate Level 3 support to the District technical personnel.
Primary escalation POC for after hours and VIP level support requests.
Review current workloads and ticket distribution. In coordination with ITC, reassigns priorities to ensure service delivery metrics are met. Responsible for SLR performance.
Collaborate with the local ITC and Ops Officer to ensure the needs of the users are understood and appropriately addressed.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of relevant experience supporting a Windows server environment.
Will also consider High School diploma and 5 years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level II (minimum: Security+ CE)
Experience with Active Directory, file permissions, etc. a plus.
Experience providing desktop support, troubleshooting server and/or desktop issues, imaging computers, etc. a plus.
US Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance.
