SAIC is seeking a Senior/SME to join our dynamic, El Segundo, CA based team. SAIC is seeking a Space Command and Control (C2) Senior/SME Data Center Engineer supporting the Horizon 2 contract for SMC/ECX and the U.S. Space Force. This role requires a blend of technical expertise with excellent communication skills. The position shall apply expert level architecture, design and engineering knowledge to provide a truly global, federated, multi-tenant enterprise private cloud solution for the U.S. Space Force. The well qualified candidate will possess a mastery of Data Center/Private Cloud/IaaS design and deployment with specialized expertise in next generation security solutions focused on the concepts of Zero Trust and micro-segmentation in a multi-tenant environment. The candidate must be capable of evaluating performance results, performing risk assessments, and recommending changes affecting the private cloud data center architecture and design. The position directly supports SMC/ECX on-site and advises & assists the SMC/ECX customer in the management of their Data Center contractors. The successful candidate is expected to have an in-depth knowledge of data center and IaaS operations, be able to identify and mitigate current IaaS issues, and create strategic plans that focus on expanding data center operations.
The successful candidate will represent the team and the customer at various configuration and requirements boards and must have strong presentation skills. The candidate must be proficient in using multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc. The candidate will help define technical policy, support estimation of tenant needs for resource planning, write and edit technical documentation, create and review standard operating procedures and presentations, and review other technical documentation for impacts to the infrastructure resources available within the data center and provided as a service to tenants. The candidate will design and develop a strategy for federated multi-location availability zones in support of mission resiliency requirements.
