SAIC is seeking a Technical Intern III that is ready to have a real insight into the world of work, test your skills in real-life situations, explore your career options and gain an insight into an organization or career path. The Intern will be assigned to the Security department in order to gain experience in their chosen field. The position will be offering entry level enterprise IT support and familiarization with large scale operations and maintenance of our customers enterprise. SAIC's goal is to ensure that the intern will gain work experience, occasionally some university credit, and always an overall feel for the industry they're interning in. Internships are beneficial because they help develop your professional aptitude, strengthen personal character, and provide a greater door to opportunity!

POSITION LOCATIONThis is remote work that may be performed from any location within the United States. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee.
  • Provides technical support, either within the company or in support of customer contracts, on assignments using established procedures.
  • Candidates are primarily engaged in the technical or scientific disciplines through the course of college study.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: AA Degree in related discipline and three (3) years or more of related experience; Or, High School and five (5) years of related experience.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

  • Skilled at implementing technical support for hardware and software problems
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux
  • Demonstrated history of rendering software upgrades and configuration improvements
  • Proficient in C/C++, Linux programming and machine assembly language
  • Effective with security techniques like nmap, Wireshark, Cisco packet tracker
  • Sharp in networking concepts, operations, and security protocols
  • Efficient with virtual box using ubuntu, Kali Linux, and openVas
  • Knowledge in microcontroller architecture and operations
  • Interest in the IT professional services field of work after graduation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment
  • Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communications abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and common office software applications is required

CLEARANCE:

  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. 
  • Applicants will not be able to start working until they are granted a Secret Personnel Security Clearance by the Department of Defense.

 


Target salary range: $25,001 - $50,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
