SAIC is seeking a Cloud Data Center Architect to join our dynamic, El Segundo, CA based team. This is a Space Command and Control (C2) role on the Horizon contract for SMC/ECX and the U.S. Space Force (USSF). Selected candidate will contribute a blend of technical expertise, excellent communication skills and senior level architecture, design and engineering knowledge to provide a truly global, federated, multi-tenant enterprise private cloud solution for the USSF.  Ideal candidate will possess the technical background and mastery of Data Center/Private Cloud/IaaS design and deployment specializing in next generation security solutions focused on the concepts of Zero Trust and micro-segmentation in a multi-tenant environment. This requires the abily and capability to evaluate performance results, perform risk assessments and recommend changes affecting the private cloud data center architecture and design.  Candidate is also expected to have in-depth knowledge of data center and IaaS operations, be able to identify and mitigate current IaaS issues, and create strategic plans that focus on expanding data center operations.

The position directly supports the SMC/ECX customer on-site to provide advisory and assistance in the day to day management of Data Center contractors while representing the team and the customer at various configuration and requirements boards to help define technical policy, support estimation of tenant needs for resource planning and review standard operating procedures and other technical documentation for impacts to infrastructure resources within the data center.  This requires strong presentation skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and Visio for writing and editing technical documentation and standard operation procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Works directly with the SMC/ECX customer to architect, design, and build a global federated solution for a multi-zone private cloud data center and LAN/WAN environment.
  • Assist SMC/ECX in the development of multi-tenant resource estimation and planning
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs on enterprise wide solutions, participate in technical working groups, and contribute to technical advisory boards.
  • Assist in developing and documenting technical policies, procedures and processes.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a computer science/computer engineering related disciplineand minimum of 14+ years of related experience; Masters and 12+ years of experience; or a PhD and 9+ years
  • Expert experience with cloud-based technologies and Infrastructure as Service components in multi-location, federated deployments
  • Strong understanding of cloud security solutions
  • Strong background in IT security/network engineering support 
  • Experience implementing large enterprise/global network access solutions.
  • Experience working directly with Government customers
  • Technical writing and documentation/diagram skills (MS Visio/MS Word/MS Excel)
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen with an active TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility and be willing to consent to a Poly. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD security requirements such as RMF and CTF processes
  • Masters or PhD in related IT field
  • Certified Data Center Professional
