Job Description


SAIC is looking for a senior hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) test analyst to support the design, development and operations of simulators in the AFRL/RW Kinetic-Kill Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation (KHILS) facility.  The KHILS facility includes Electro-Optical, Infrared and Radiofrequency (EO/IR/RF) target simulators,  vacuum chamber testing environments, shielded RF anechoic chambers,  and real-time computation systems available to accomplish HWIL testing of advanced EO, IR and RF weapons systems, subsystems and integrated concepts. 

The applicant may also serve as technical lead for selected SAIC task orders as they are issued under various SAIC contracts.  These duties include technical leadership and oversite for all task order participants, and responsibility for the development and delivery of the task order documentation (status reports, briefings and a task closeout final report).

The applicant must have 15 or more years’ experience in the design, setup, and application of HWIL test facility components and equipment applied to testing and analysis of guided weapon’s systems and subsystems. 

This applicant’s experience must include, but is not limited to:

  • The design, development and installation of mounting fixtures for in-laboratory static and dynamic hardware testing
  • Setup, operation and maintenance of cryogenic evacuated test chambers
  • Clean room operations and maintenance
  • Design, development and application of processes, techniques, fixtures and measurement equipment necessary to align optical elements, antennas, and hardware under test prior to lab test execution

The applicant must have 5 or more years’ experience functioning as project lead for one or more successful technical activities.  These lead responsibilities should include technical oversight of other personnel involved in the project and the accomplishment of formal project documentation. 



5 or more years’ team leadership experience

15 or more years’ experience working in a real-time HWIL seeker testing environment

Technical BS degree in engineering or physics. (in lieu of a BS degree, 20 years or more applicable experience in the specific areas outlined above will qualify)

Must qualify for a US government secret security clearance (existing Secret clearance preferred)

Software applications experience required:  Cad software (Auto-CAD or SolidWorks), Matlab, Python.
