Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) specialist on the Horizon Program to support United States Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Special Programs (SP) Directorate in development and fielding of advanced capability space systems. SMC/SP equips U.S. forces with space control systems to gain, maintain, and exploit space superiority. It directs the planning, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of a complex and dynamic portfolio of space-superiority capabilities of the highest national priority. The position requires an individual with extensive experience in technical programs, technical program management, and systems engineering of operational systems and/or new start technical demonstrations. The successful candidate should have excellent communication and team skills. In addition, the candidate will be expected to continually balance and adjust work priorities to meet short-term work suspense and rapidly evolving customer needs. The position is based in El Segundo, CA. Qualified applicants must possess as active TS/SCI clearance and have a willingness to consent to a polygraph examination.

Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform SEIT activities including requirement definition and decomposition, implementation, verification, and validation of advanced satellite and ground command and control (C2) systems
  • Analyze system requirements that define the technical baseline and verification of the technical baseline
  • Assess verification evidence for completeness and accuracy, and develop verification reports for U.S. Space Force management
  • Work with Government and contractor personnel to close gaps in flow of customer requirements down through the system and component levels
  • Lead and support Government/Contractor Working Group meetings—by creating briefings, leading discussion, and writing reports—to resolve risks, requirement gaps, and action items
  • Review proposed changes to the technical baseline for impacts to enterprise capabilities and to cross-stakeholder integration concerns
  • Facilitate review of program documents by providing comments, compiling other reviewer comments, and working with contractors to adjudicate the comments
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to assess technical issues and to prepare briefings and reports to U.S. Space Force management
  • Support management of risks, issues, interdependencies; identify schedule disconnects and conflicts; develop action plans for resolution; and assist the Government in executing selected solutions


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more SEIT experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more SEIT experience; or PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more SEIT experience
  • Must be able to interface with all levels of functional/division acquisition offices to accomplish projects for the Government program office
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Active TS/SCI clearance in JPAS or in-scope SSBI and with willingness to consent to a polygraph examination

Desired Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in SEIT related to the Air Force space community
  • Space Control mission area experience
