SAIC has an opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer to provide engineering and technical advisory services supporting a Systems Engineering and Integration Office at Fort Belvoir, VA. SAIC seeks an experienced, highly motivated Systems Engineer with polished communication skills and expert organizational abilities. This professional will be involved throughout the development lifecycle by analyzing and developing concepts of operations, requirements, participating in design reviews, analyzing test results during verification and validation. As a SETA, he/she will often work multiple projects and related tasks with the expectation he/she will address broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, stakeholder engagement, contract management) as well as tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, readiness reviews). The successful applicant must provide exceptional systems engineering technical expertise and high confidence value-added judgment to advise all levels of government management from local engineer up to the Site Commander. Strong technical and thought leadership is necessary with analysis of SE&I topics and subsequent recommendations on courses of action related to data collection, processing and dissemination, infrastructure systems engineering. A proactive attitude in identifying and addressing issues, providing recommendations and communicating with the customer is highly important. Specific job functions include the following:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SECURITY CLEARANCE, CERTIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERTISE AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) fields or greater required by contract.
Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
Bachelor’s STEM degree and 10+ years relevant experience in systems engineering environments required.
Active TS/SCI with current Polygraph required.
