SAIC is seeking a Benefits Principal with retirement plan knowledge and administrative experience . This position will work in the Corporate Benefits function with the opportunity to develop, influence and administer company wide policies and practices.
Develops and/or administers the company's retirement plans with a specialized focus on a large 401k plan, a frozen defined benefit pension plan and retiree health reimbursement account program. Other areas of responsibility may include leave programs such as paid time off, holidays, military leave, leaves of absence, etc., and spending accounts (FSA's/HSA's).
This position provides broad opportunities in the following areas:
-Oversight of communications to employees, participants, managers and other internal stakeholders
-Evaluates present programs through research, surveys, and analysis of benefit trends to ensure plans are competitive and current
-Assist with governing committee processes to ensure compliance including meeting management, developing agendas, tracking deliverables, reviewing minutes, etc.
-Owns external vendor relationships such as plan record keepers, actuarial services, third party administrators and includes contract development and performance management
-Considered by others to be an expert in their areas of responsibility and will interface with internal stakeholders such as finance and accounting, government compliance, HR business partners and others
-Ensures plans are administered in compliance with company, state and federal guidelines and regulations including all required testing, filings and audits.
-Maintains knowledge of legal and regulatory changes, trends, and other developments affecting retirement benefits
-Contributes to continual process improvement through the development and recommendation of new concepts and changes to policy
-Experience with qualified defined benefit pension plans and 401k plans desired as well as in the government contracting industry
Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience
