JOB DESCRIPTION:  Come be a part of the SAIC team in Fort Meade MD, where we help address the nation’s most pressing and complex challenges. SAIC works with our customers on missions that strengthen security and safety and protect the basic values of our society. We have an opening for a User Expirience (UX) Speacialist.  Join a dedicated SAIC team providing innovative software development support with our partner, to the Mission Customer.. 

Time Sensitive Reporting --- User Experience (UX) Specialist (up to 60% telework)

Designs user experiences for new and existing web-based applications. Designs user-friendly solutions for complex workflows. Designs high-fidelity mockups using Adobe Creative Suite CC (Illustrator, Photoshop), Axure, or similar design tools. Creates design artifacts and workflow diagrams. Understands and follows user experience design processes, standards, and best practices. Communicates on a regular basis with creative director, product owners, development teams, and stakeholders. Participates in design critiques and takes suggestions with grace. Acts as a strong advocate and expert for the user, understanding their pains, motivations/preferences, and behavior. Builds strong relationships across cross-functional development team areas and multiple disciplines as an advocate of UX Research.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have:

  • 2+ years of experience in UX, UX Research, or related field with a strong background in user interface design
  • Formal education in Human Factors, Graphic Design, or related field
  • Experience with UX research utilizing various methods including but not limited to usability studies, surveys, and product research (end-to-end, usability, or generative setting)
  • Experience visualizing research findings into tangible artifacts such as customer journey maps, service blueprints, and personas
  • Expertise in visual or graphic design using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with user experience or web design with a focus on web-based applications with compelling and intuitive user interfaces
  • Experience in creating style guides, icons, and graphics in support of a project
  • TS/SCI w/Poly

 

Desired experience may include:

  • Experience designing and delivering user wireframes and user journey maps based on user experience
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility compliance requirements
  • Familiarity working with development teams in an Agile environment
  • Experience with HTML and CSS
  • Knowledge of typography
  • Professional portfolio or sample that demonstrates design thinking and a strong understanding of visual design

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
